Learning is Messy

Learning is Messy is an exciting blog developed by Brian Crosby. He use to teach in an upper elementary district for over 30 years. His life is dedicated to teaching students hands work including the use of activities, technology and art to the “at-risk” students. There are class wiki’s as well as class projects on the website. There school is at a 1:1 ratio with technology. Meaning for every student there is a computer for them to use during class. One of the articles I particularly liked was titled “Leaving Their Mark”. This article discussed the students blogging instead of  on their laptops. There was even an instance when a student got sick with cancer and could come to class, but was skype into class and students were able to have her involved. Now that’s what I call teaching! There also were able to skype other classrooms. It was the most useful way of teaching I have seen or heard of. I hope I will be able to use technology the same way this teacher did.
